WIP and other stuff...

Currently I am working on the Kimono Wrap from Glam Knits. When they photographed this coat for the book, the stylist/model/photographer decided the inside was the correct side to show... I can't figure out why. The lace pattern on this wrap is so beautiful, you'd have to be crazy to think it was the inside. Anyway, I'm making good progress on it and am in love! I'm using some of WildeThyme's beautiful handspun, colorway is Bell Peppers, it was inspired by a photo Laura saw of some peppers. It was so amazing I knew I needed to make a whole garment out of it and commissioned enough to make this wrap. Here's my progress so far:

I got up this morning and saw that my dad had come over yesterday to install my 2nd shelf in my living room. He built them and they look great! I got some small spot lights at IKEA to add so I can sit in the chair under them and read or knit.

Most of the pieces I have on them were given to me by my younger brother. He collected them during his many travels.

Here's my AeroGarden. I got the salad greens kit and planted it a week before Christmas. The lettuce is amazingly tender and delicious!

This is one of the best inventions for those of us who live in condos (or apartments) or just don't want a big garden!

More Finished Projects

I finished a couple projects in the last couple of weeks:

First is my Verte, j'espere sweater, from the Short-sleeved cardigan with ribbing from Stefanie's Fitted Knits book.

It's made from Alpaca with a Twist Highlander yarn, which is Alpaca, Merino, Rayon and Microfiber and is super super soft. I had to hold 2 strand together to make this. It's super thick and warm.

Next is my first pair of socks for me. It's made with some Cascade 220 that was dyed by the daughter of the owner of Oodles of Yarn in Santa Fe, the solid is some leftover Mission Falls I had. I love the colors, and they striped perfectly, I'm sure that'll never happen again!

I've made progress on my Secret Surprise Marilyn. It's coming along slowly, but I'm enjoying the process.
