Christmas at my house

It's Christmas at my house. I usually decorate the first weekend in December, but for the last 2 years I haven't decorated. I decided to go for it yesterday and am so glad I did.

My tree is a vintage 1960s aluminum tree that I found brand new, still in the box at a Goodwill store about 12 years ago. My ornaments are a mix of ornaments that my parents had on their tree in the 60s, ornaments my great aunt made, and other vintage ornaments I found at thrift stores and garage sales. I have a light wheel for the tree, but it isn't working as well as it used to.

I also have a vintage cardboard fireplace. I always top it with a set of Alpine Village lights I found at an antique store. I set up the village scene with accessories I got at a hobby store. The stockings were crocheted by my great aunt.

Here's Tigger's house and one of my fun, Seussical trees:

And a ceramic, musical tree I found at a rummage sale:

Happy Holidays everyone!

your house looks great :) i especially love the vintage tree and the fantastical Seuss-like tree. last year (the first year in my new, very own home) I started a collection of fun non-traditional trees. i plan on adding every years :)
