Thou Shalt Not Love

My younger brother is a born-again Christian who also happens to be gay and is an Anthropologist with a PhD. What does all this have to do with the title of this post?? He's written a book titled "Thou Shalt Not Love: What Evangelicals Really Say To Gays", which is being released on October 17. Here are links to reviews of the book, the reviews are great! My brother has spent most of his life studying the bible, part of it going through a "deprogramming" to make him straight (doesn't work), and been kicked out of Churches because he is gay. Not only that, but he also received death threats because he is outspoken about being a gay Christian. He is probably the smartest person I know, and because of that I know this book has been thoroughly researched and re-researched. He knows what he's talking about, not only because of the research, but because he's lived it.

If you're interested in the book, you can preorder it through Barnes and Noble. If anyone in your world is gay and you'd like to be able to counter arguments against them, or if you just want to read about what one person has gone through in his life trying to be a good Christian while being true to himself as a gay man, you should pick up this book. Or if you'd like to be able to debate the anti-gay marriage bills that are on the ballot, and the candidates who believe that homosexuals aren't due the same rights as the rest of us, this book will give you a lot of great information.

I'm very proud of my brother and really wish he hadn't had to go through (and continues to go through) what he has.
